This website is a photography project to support my mindfulness practice. "Name three things you can see" is a grounding exercise which helps redirect thoughts away from distressing feelings (like worrying about a pandemic) and back to the present moment.
If you want to try naming three things you can see, you can also name three sounds you can hear, and then name three things you can touch. This technique is known as the 3-3-3.
What three things do you see in each photo below?
phone line, orange sign, house shadows
profiles, books, bars
wallpaper, digits, man
peace, kitty, trash
black rook, grass greens, sacred Stonehenge
hiking path, trail post, Pacific Ocean
marine layer, Sutro Tower, dirt path
cityscape, couple, pink shirt
ocean, fog, hills
red car, witch's hat turret, stairs
bench, tree, friend
sky, clouds, back flips
vibrant Victorians, yellow hat, glorious grass
Swiss chard tree, thumb nail, light shadows
wall, doorbell, old glue squirts
tree branches, Victorian false front, bracketed cornice
wood, lines, feeling
Chewbacca, Luke, Obi-Wan, (Han Solo)
